I am thrilled to be a part of the vibrant community of students, educators, and parents at HCI. With a deep passion for helping individuals discover their true potential and pursue fulfilling academic and career paths, I bring extensive experience and a dedicated approach to my role as your Education and Career Guidance Counsellor.

I have had the privilege of working as a university guidance counsellor at an international school, where I gathered extensive knowledge in advising students with their overseas university applications. This experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of the intricacies of the application process and the ability to provide valuable guidance to students like you.

My educational journey includes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Career and Developmental Counselling. Additionally, I have worked as a Special Education Needs Coordinator in Singapore, providing tailored support to students with diverse learning needs During my time at my initial employment as a Remedial Educator, I found solace in the immediate comfort brought about by the warm smiles of the young children. They imparted valuable lessons in patience and unwavering resolve. It was through this experience that I discovered my true passion for working with children and adolescents.

Furthermore, I have served as a counselling psychologist at a leading hospital in India, where I had the opportunity to work closely with children and youth. Additionally, my role as a Helpline Counselor allowed me to provide career advice, counseling, and support to young adults. These experiences have honed my ability to provide empathetic guidance to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

I am eager to contribute to the advancement of your career path. Hope to see you around.

It is an honour for me to join the prestigious Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) community. I have vast experience in providing Higher Education consultation, and as your Education and Career Guidance counsellor, I seek to help you with your future academic and career paths.

Prior to joining HCI, I have worked as an Education Agent for more than a decade. Throughout this time, I have helped numerous students in gaining admissions into their desired University and degree course. I would always imagine myself being in the shoes of these students when I counselled them on their Higher Education admissions journey. This is because I also remembered the time when I was at their/your age and being all confused on where to begin and how to apply to my dream Universities.

I completed my bachelor’s degree in Science and Football in the UK. Though I have decided not to continue my career in the sports industry since, the experience of my Higher Education admissions journey continue to stick in my mind. From the daunting task of deciding on what to write for my personal statement, to the moment when I received the offer letter from the University. Eventually, when I learnt that Education Agencies do exist and they provide admissions assistance to School Leavers, this role naturally came calling to me, and I decided to jump into it. Fast forward many years later, having assisted many students just like yourself, I get the upmost pleasure when I see the joy on each of their faces when they receive successful admissions into their dream universities.

With this, I do hope that I could also provide the same positive impact to your education journey, and subsequently your career paths. I look forward to seeing you around.

As the dedicated Education and Career Guidance Counsellor at Hwa Chong Institution for High School students, I am excited to work alongside this dynamic community of students, committed educators and parents.

I look forward to guiding you in your journey as you discover your purpose, explore the different education and career pathways, and build your resilience as you eventually enter the world of work in the future.

My own journey began with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies from Nanyang Technological University. I then spent an extensive 14 years in the advertising and telco industries, which included roles at multinational media agencies and Singtel.

My transition into Education and Career Guidance counselling stemmed from my deep-seated passion for mentoring young people. Throughout my career, I always found great fulfillment in guiding young colleagues in discovering their potential and aspirations. I decided to take the plunge and commit to making a lasting impact on the lives of our youth by guiding them towards finding their sense of purpose in life and navigating the various pathways out there. So here I am today!
